Tuscany Workshop
Join us for eight fabulous days in Tuscany! San Gimignano, Italy’s most perfectly preserved medieval hill town, will be the home base for our Drawing and Watercolor Workshop. Artists – from beginners to advanced – will have myriad plein-air opportunities in San Gimignano, Siena, Florence and the Tuscan countryside at one of the most lovely and comfortable times of the year. (Offered in conjunction with the Arkansas Arts Center)
Workshop Highlights
- Instruction by award winning artist, Timothy Tyler.
- Sketching/painting most days 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:00 p.m.
- Private guided tours in San Gimignano and in nearby Siena and Florence, followed by on-site drawing classes and free time.
- After-dinner watercolor demonstrations, open to all group members.
- Long lunches allowing participants, partners, spouses, and friends to share lunches and/or a bit of site seeing.
- Free day at your leisure.
Land Cost
Cost is $2,890 per person and is based on double room occupancy; 12-15 group members; and an exchange rate of 1 euro = 1.33 dollars U.S. Therefore, the cost is subject to change. (Single room supplement: $350; limited number of singles available.) Air transportation to and from Italy is not included.

Florence (optional add-on)
Despite visiting Florence for a day while we’ll be staying in San Gimignano (September 9-16), we’ll be so close to Florence that we want to offer the opportunity to spend a few more days there to enjoy more of the Renaissance city’s vast riches.

Florence Cost
Cost is $1,250 and is based on double room occupancy; a minimum of 8 group members; and an exchange rate of 1 euro = 1.33 dollars U.S. Therefore, the cost is subject to change. (Single room supplement: $150; limited number of singles available.)
Payment Schedule, Registration, and Cancellation Policy (both trips)
Payment Schedule. A $500 deposit guarantees your place in this limited-space (12-15 guests) workshop/tour. We do not ask for an additional deposit for the Florence add-on, just that you indicate whether your deposit is for the Tuscany workshop alone or for the workshop plus Florence. Please send checks payable to Italy Adagio, 2021 21st Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35209. The balance of your tour payment is due by May 31, 2012.
Registration. Additionally, participants must register for this workshop on the Arkansas Arts Center’s website; there is no additional charge for this. The information entered on this Application Form will be used to create a trip roster. Please follow these registration instructions:
1) Go to the Arkansas Arts Center’s online class registration form by clicking here.
2) Complete the form.
a. Under “Title of First Course” and “Class Code,” type in “Art Trip – Italy”.
b. In the Payment section, to indicate that a person rather than a machine is accessing the form, enter your name, pick any credit card, type in all zeros for credit card number, make up an expiration date, enter tomorrow’s date, and select “submit form.”
Cancellation Policy. Should Italy Adagio receive written cancellation of your trip before July 15, 2012, we shall make a full refund of recoverable costs, less a $500-per-person cancellation charge. Cancellations received after July 15, 2012, are not eligible for refunds.
